Police say a Johnstown man has been charged after investigators discovered three women tied up in house that had trip-wires inside.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Johnstown Police Department, Daniel Boyer faces charges related to raping an unconscious victim, involuntary servitude, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and false imprisonment.

Investigators say the were called to a Johnstown home in the Prospect section of the city Thursday morning on Ebensburg Road after receiving a 911 call from a distressed woman.

The woman told officers she had been tied up but was able to break free and call police, according to the criminal complaint.

Police say they arrived on scene, and when they knocked on the door, they could hear one of the victims inside who said she couldn’t come to the door, the complaint says.

Officers say they forced their way in to find a woman visibly shaken standing on one side of the kitchen and Boyer getting dressed on the other side of the kitchen.

They say Boyer was taken into custody.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators searched the home and found two more women inside, both bound to a couch by their wrists.

Police say they cut the women free and noted they appeared to be bound with twine.

A search warrant was executed and while search the home, investigators say they found dried pasta noodles, spaghetti sauce, and dawn dish soap on the floor near the front and rear exits.

They say there were also trip wires in the entrance to the kitchen that police had to cut.

Police say the pasta noodles and dish soap on the floor appeared to be strategically placed to alert someone of movement or entry into the area where the women were tied up.

Investigators say they found drugs and paraphernalia throughout the home.

In an interview with police, investigators say Boyer told them he met the women through a woman he knew and took them back to the house to smoke methamphetamine.

After smoking meth, Boyer said he was the last one awake and tied the women up with rope, according to the complaint.

Police say Boyer admitted to trying to have a sexual encounter with one of the women as she slept.

They say Boyer stated he got the idea from a website and it was part of a game.

Investigators noted that at least one of the women had injuries consistent with sexual assault.

Boyer is being held in the Cambria County Prison.

His bail was set at $1 million.
