Police are asking the public to help them identify a woman whose dismembered remains were found in Ohio earlier this week.

WKRC was first to break this news on Monday when the body was discovered in a Cincinnati neighborhood.

Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said the woman was likely killed Friday night or Saturday morning.

The Hamilton County Coroner does not know her age, identity, or if she is from the area.

The coroner said there are no fingerprints, teeth, tattoos or birthmarks to reference for help. That's why they're making a plea to the public.

Somebody must be missing her," Sammarco said. "It appears she might even have a child. So, there has to be a family out there that's missing her. And that this point being that it's so recent, all those other resources would be a little to early because even if someone did call in a missing persons it would go to law enforcement and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be in NamUs yet."

NamUs is the National Missing And Unidentified Persons System.

Sammarco thinks it's too early to start checking those databases but will if she doesn't get any leads.

The victim is an African-American woman. She was about five foot tall and 125 pounds.

Anyone who has information or might be able to identify the woman is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.

Tipsters can remain anonymous.
