A Blair County woman is behind bars after leaving her four-year-old son at her home alone and attempting to break into another residence Wednesday, state police say.

According to a press release, troopers were dispatched to a home along Pond St. in Frankstown Township, Blair County just before 10 p.m. for a report of a female attempting to break into an occupied residence.

State police say that, when they arrived on scene, they found the female, Olivia McEwen, 27, located in a children's tree house behind the residence.

The press release states that McEwen began laughing uncontrollably and waving at state police as they gave her commands to come down.

According to state police, when asked what she was doing at the residence, she told them that she lived there before changing her story and saying she did not live there but knew the people who did, but could not provide their names.

The press release states that McEwen then changed her story again and admitted that she did not live there or know who lived there and said it was not illegal to try to break into someone's home.

State police say McEwen appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and that she later admitted to using LSD and marijuana.

According to the press release, McEwen then provided her current address and stated that she left her four-year-old son at home alone.

State police say that, after conducting a welfare check on her son, they located the child in the home alone with drugs and drug paraphernalia around the home.

The press release states that McEwen was transported to PSP Hollidaysburg and, while outside the station, became argumentative and kicked and attempted to bite a state trooper.

Online court dockets show that McEwen faces one felony charge of criminal trespass, one felony charge of resisting arrest, one charge of endangering the welfare of children where a parent or guardian commits the offense and one charge of public drunkenness.

Court dockets also show that McEwen is currently being held at the Blair County Prison and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 8.
