More than 10,000 customers in Cambria County lost power as severe thunderstorms rolled through the region Wednesday evening, according to Penelec.

According to Penelec, 10,422 customers in Cambria County were without power just before 5:30 p.m.

Penelec says 3,280 outages were reported in Johnstown City, and another 1,188 were reported in East Taylor Township.

Severe thunderstorms rolled through Wednesday evening knocking down numerous trees in its path.

In Westmont, a large tree was blown into a house on Clarion Street.

By Thursday morning, fewer than 1,000 customer were without power in Cambria County, according to Penelec.
