Pittsburgh Pirates all-star second baseman Adam Frazier has been traded to the San Diego Padres for three prospects.

ESPN first reported the trade, moments later The Athletic reported some of the prospects coming to the Pirates.

Frazier was removed from the game against the San Fransico Giants as the reports began leaking out and manager Derek Shelton could be seen walking back with him into the clubhouse.

A starter in the All-Star Game earlier this month, Frazier was slashing .327/.392/.453 and led all of baseball with 125 hits entering Sunday's game. He had four home runs and 32 RBIs in 97 games.
