'We're going to do better:' PA Game Commission testifies about issues with new online deer license s
“We're going to do better next year.” That's what the head of the Pennsylvania Game Commission told state lawmakers about the problems with the online sales of antlerless deer hunting licenses.
June 26th marked the first day rollout of the new online system, a day many hunters would rather forget.
Initial problems with the system created frustrations and long wait times for license sales.
In reality, after glitches were fixed, it was a busy time for the game commission.
2 ATVs stolen from Carns Equipment
CLEARFIELD, Pa. — Police in Lawrence Township are investigating a theft at a recreational vehicle dealership in Clearfield County.
Police said a man driving a black truck loaded two ATVs into a large white enclosed trailer from Carns Equipment, located on Clearfield Shawville Highway.
The theft took place around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Chief Douglas Clark said the man stole the ATVs within a matter of minutes. Clark said police believe the truck was from out of state.
Saint Joseph's Academy suspends football for 2018 season
BOALSBURG, Pa. - Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy in Boalsburg has suspended its football program for the 2018 season.
Athletic Director Chad Walsh said the decision was made due to a lack of committed players for the upcoming season.
“We have not finished a season with more than 18 healthy players over the past 5five seasons. This year, we are looking at fewer than 13 who have committed to playing," said Walsh.
Somerset County's 3C's church invites all to 20-acre Easter egg hunt with big prizes
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Somerset County church is hosting its fourth annual easter egg hunt this weekend.
Michael Ragozzino, lead pastor at 3C's church, said the event is open to individuals of all ages.
Ragozzino said over 3,000 eggs of various sizes will be hidden throughout a 20-acre area, including one lucky egg with hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes inside.
Food will also be provided during the event in addition to the egg hunt and other Easter activities.
