Brookville man charged with falsifying documents for financial gain

BROOKVILLE, Pa. -- A Brookville man has been accused of filing false documents with a business in order to receive payments. Andrew Fitzsimmons, 39, has been charged with deceptive business practices, theft by deception and tampering with records. Brookville police said Fitzsimmons submitted false documents to Plylers At Your Service from November to March. Police said Fitzsimmons received more than $15,000. RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A store owner has been arrested and charged with murder after fatally shooting a 14-year-old he thought was stealing from his store, according to deputies. Rick Chow, 58, owner of a Shell Gas Station shot and killed Cyrus Carmack-Belton Sunday, the Richland County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies said the incident began inside the gas station after Chow thought Carmack-Belton was stealing from his store. Investigators found that to be false.

Tomahawks wrap up main camp

EBENSBURG -- The Johnstown Tomahawks' roster is slowly starting to come together. They wrapped up their main camp Sunday morning with a pair of games, featuring over 70 players from across the nation. The Hawks' reputation continues to grow in junior hockey circles. The level of play is getting better. This was possibly the most competitive camp the Tomahawks have ever hosted. The first game of the season is September 29.

Troopers ID man killed in Brothersvalley Township crash

BROTHERSVALLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — State police in Somerset County have identified a man killed in a crash Wednesday evening. They say 38-year-old Matthew Gindlesperger, of Berlin, was driving eastbound along East Mud Pike in Brothersvalley Township just after 5:30 p.m. Troopers say he got into the westbound lane in an attempt to pass another car while cresting a hill. At the same time, another car traveling in the same lane was coming up the hill.

Cambria County man remains in jail after threatening police

BEAVERDALE - A Cambria County man remains in jail after police said he called them to his home and threatened them. Daniel Locher, 31, of Cedar Street, is charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct as a result of the May 24 incident. Police said Locher called them last month after finding a woman inside his home trying to steal food. But police said Locher, who previously was wanted on a warrant for domestic relations, swore at them when they confronted him and ran away before barricading himself in his house.

End in sight for years-long Route 322 Potters Mills construction project

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — PennDOT says that the Route 322 Potters Mills construction project is nearly complete. The construction project that began nearly five years ago will have a new roadway and two new interchanges that will eliminate backups on both routes 144 and 322 and a smoother flow of traffic. The project is expected to be completed sometime this fall. PennDOT is also encouraging motorists to slow down in construction sites as we get into construction and summer travel seasons.
