WASHINGTON (WJLA) — A mother hopes for changes at her daughter's school after her 7-year-old came home with two black eyes.
"It looked like she had been in a brawl," said Jewel Stroman.
That's what went through Stroman's head when she saw her daughter, Honesty, after school on May 3. Honesty attends Harmony DC Public Charter School in D.C.
"The school claimed that they called me after this incident happened, however, I didn’t get any missed calls on my phone from them,"
Two killed in head-on crash on PA Turnpike in Somerset County
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — State police say two Pennsylvania men were killed Friday night following a head-on crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County.
Investigators say the crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. Friday near the 100 eastbound mile marker in Jefferson Township.
According to the crash report, the driver of a Ford F-250, identified as 27-year-old Dustin Brant, of Derry, Pa, was reportedly traveling in the wrong direction when he collided head-on with a Ford E-350 van.

Greensburg man arrested, charged for robbing Walmart at gunpoint
GREENSBURG, Pa (WJAC) — State Police arrested a man on Saturday in connection to an armed robbery at the Greensburg Walmart, according to a news release. Troopers charged Christopher John Hilty, 31, with robbery and other related charges in connection to the incident, which occurred Friday night.
Authorities say Hilty entered the customer service area at the Greensburg Walmart, just before 9 p.m. Friday, and displayed a handgun to the clerk.
Johnstown celebrates 25 years of honoring cancer survivors with free luncheon
For 25 years, Michelle Shaffer with the Johnstown Area Cancer Survivor’s Organization has worked to honor those affected by cancer in the area.
This year, hundreds of cancer survivors and their families gathered at the Masonic Temple in Johnstown to celebrate at no cost.
“We do a luncheon with a DJ, door prizes. It’s just a fun day for people to get away from their diagnosis of cancer, their treatments, and have a good time,” says Shaffer.
Officials give tips to stay safe during black bear mating season
Clearfield, PA — With June and July being mating season for black bears, the PA Game commission is warning you to enjoy bears from a distance and to not approach them.
Brian Witherite, State Game Warden for the PA Game Commission, said you’re most likely to see bears in the early morning throughout the afternoon.
"They’re just going to be bumping around pursuing what nature has them doing," he said.

The new court documents also detail how members of DuBois city government were reportedly involved in the investigation.
Prior to his arrest in March, authorities say they began looking into Suplizio's personal finances after receiving an anonymous complaint about how the finances of the DuBois United Way were being used.
Woman's dismembered body found in Cincinnati neighborhood, police say
CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Police are asking the public to help them identify a woman whose dismembered remains were found in Ohio earlier this week.
WKRC was first to break this news on Monday when the body was discovered in a Cincinnati neighborhood.
Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said the woman was likely killed Friday night or Saturday morning.
The Hamilton County Coroner does not know her age, identity, or if she is from the area.
