Dog beaten, needing amputation, after cruelty and abuse in Chester Co.
CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An unidentified individual is facing felony animal cruelty charges after severely maiming a dog in South Coatesville.
Staff with the Brandywine Valley SPCA says Ava came to their shelter in December after being found by a neighbor.
The neighbor, hearing Ava's cries, concerningly called officials with the Brandywine Valley SPCA Protectice Services.
Authorities say they went to the South Coatesville home, finding Ava severely emaciated with multiple brutal injuries.
Hines Ward, James Harrison named semifinalists for 2023 Pro Football HOF class
Pittsburgh Steelers' greats Hines Ward and James Harrison have been named as semifinalists for the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class.
Harrison, who is a first-year nominee, helped lead the Steelers to victory in Super Bowl XLIII and was also named as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year during the 2008 season.
The former All-Pro linebacker spent 14 seasons in Pittsburgh and was voted to the Pro Bowl in five straight seasons, from 2007 to 2011.
Number of Dr. Barto victims could be 'astronomical,' Attorneys looking for more survivors
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The potential for survivors out there is astronomical.
That's what attorneys defending the sexual assault victims of Dr. Johnnie Barto told 6 News in an interview Wednesday morning.
The former Johnstown pediatrician -- convicted of molesting children over the course of decades -- has been sentenced to life in prison.
The California-based law firm Manly, Stewart & Finaldi is representing over 100 victims of Dr. Barto's sexual assaults.
EU Commission issues Oreo maker Mondelez hefty fine for blocking cross-border sale
BRUSSELS (AP) — The European Commission has imposed a fine of 337.5 million euros ($366 million) on food company Mondelez, the owner of Oreo cookies and other snack brands, for obstructing sales of its products between EU member states, the bloc's executive arm said on Thursday.
Mondelez owns the Cadbury and Toblerone chocolate brands as well as Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies, Triscuit crackers and Perfect Snacks nutrition bars.
The Commission said Mondelez tried to avoid that cross-border trade because that could lead to lower prices.
The Lorain/Stonycreek hiking trails are offering hikers a whole new view of the city - this time at night.
The idea started back in January but organizers say that temperatures were too cold and interest was too low.
Now however, people are flocking to see the park at night and get a view of Johnstown like no other.

State College psychologist sentenced after charges
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. -- A former State College psychologist has been sentenced to a minimum of three years in jail after allegedly sexually assaulting a minimum of two female patients.
The original charges happened over a decade ago and the case against Dr. Richard Scott Lenhart has been ongoing for the past few years.
Lenhart was in court Thursday morning for behavior that officials have described as a "sexually violent predator.
Teens charged with foiled Westmont Hilltop school shooting plot will head to trial
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Two teens charged with what investigators call a conspiracy to commit a school shooting at Westmont Hilltop High School in Cambria County will go to trial.
After a four-hour hearing Thursday, charges were bounded over by Magistrate Judge Kevin Price to the Court of Common Pleas against Logan Pringle, 17, and Preston Hinebaugh, 17, for several felony charges that they conspired together in the plot that was foiled last month after a parent told the school the Pringle had been in the school.
Texas airline worker fatally 'ingested' into jet engine
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WOAI) — An investigation is underway after an airline worker in Texas was fatally "ingested" into a jet engine.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner ruled on Monday that the worker's death was ruled a suicide. The medical examiner's office said the doctor "saw signs that pointed to suicide."
The ground crew member was on the runway at San Antonio International Airport Friday when it happened.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the incident happened around 10:25 p.
