Parent charged with child rape accused of holding naked child at gunpoint in basement

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Police have arrested a Washington state man for allegedly sexually abusing his child in Lancaster County, and officials are still searching for a second suspect, the mother of the child. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, police took 56-year-old John Dehart into custody on April 18 in Philadelphia on charges related to the sexual assault of his child. Police are also searching for the child's mother, 34-year-old Sarah Miller, also on charges related to the rape of a child.

Shade's Muha breaks single-game school scoring record

Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — During Saturday's girls varsity basketball game against Meyersdale, Shade junior Jenna Muha set a new school, single-game scoring record with 48 points. The previous record of 47 was set by Michelle Chelednik during the 1987-88 season. Earlier this season, Muha eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her high school career. Muha's 48-point game helped the Panthers defeat the Red Raiders on Saturday by a score of 66-43.

'Kill them all!' Blair Co. woman accused of hiring man to kill wife, her family by burning down hous

Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — State police say a Duncansville woman is behind bars in Bedford County after she allegedly hired a man in an attempt to kill her wife and her wife's family. Investigators say they reportedly uncovered messages between 43-year-old Heather Dibert and Zachery Sellers, of Lewistown, in which Dibert allegedly offered money and drugs to Sellers in exchange for him burning down a home in Napier Township where her wife was staying with family members.

3rd former frat brother resentenced to house arrest in Penn State hazing case

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WJAC) — Another former Penn State fraternity member is allowed to serve his punishment at home. Former Beta Theta Pi member Luke Visser was resentenced Wednesday to 45 days of home confinement and six months of probation instead of serving a maximum six months in jail. Judge Brian Marshall resentenced two other former Beta Theta Pi members last month to the same terms. Visser pleaded guilty to hazing charges surrounding the 2017 death of Timothy Piazza.

And over half of the survey respondents who use AI at work said they worry that using it on important tasks makes them look replaceable, according to the Work Trend Index survey of thousands of knowledge workers – those who typically work at a desk. Two-thirds of leaders in the survey said they wouldn’t hire someone without AI skills.

Pirates sign 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes to 8-year deal

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates are building around third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes. A person with knowledge of the agreement tells The Associated Press the Pirates and Hayes have come to terms on a new eight-year, $70 million deal with the 25-year-old Hayes pending a physical. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because a formal announcement isn't expected until the team's home opener on April 12. Hayes entered the 2022 season hitting .

Toyota recalls over 100K top-selling vehicles

UNDATED (WKRC) - Toyota has recalled over 100,000 top-selling vehicles. Toyota announced the recall of around 102,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles. According to the company, it is possible that machining debris, which may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced, can lead to engine knocking, the vehicle running rough, the engine failing to start or a loss of power. A loss of power at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.

'Distressed' aircraft makes emergency 'belly landing' at Johnstown Airport

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say a “distressed” aircraft had to make an emergency landing Monday afternoon at the Johnstown airport. First responders were put on standby after officials said the pilot notified air traffic control of a landing gear issue. Authorities say the rear landing gear would not lock into place. Local first responders were called to the airport as the plane circled above to burn fuel before coming in for what's called a “belly landing.
