Alligator slips away from Pa home into river, is recaptured

WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — An alligator that wandered away from his owner's Pennsylvania home slipped into the Susquehanna River but was found the following day. The York Daily Record reports that Oscar is believed to have gotten out of the pen at the Wrightsville home sometime Thursday. The 3-foot-long animal was spotted Friday morning in the Susquehanna. Owner Tyler Hake, a biologist who works with reptiles and has had Oscar since he was about 16, was in western Pennsylvania conducting a survey.

Md. principal gave 'Rogue Boys' permission to film music video in school, group says

GAMBRILLS, Md. (CITC) — The group behind the explicit music video filmed inside Maryland's Arundel High School last month says they received permission from the principal to use the school for their video shoot. The music video, titled "Wanna Be Remix," was posted to YouTube by the account "Rogue Boys" on April 25. The video, which has received nearly 50,000 views, contains profanity and references to sex, violence and drugs. It also shows male and female individuals engaging in faux physical fights and grinding on each other, with some of the females scantily dressed.

Somerset Co. woman dies after tractor malfunction at Union County West End Fair

A Somerset County woman is dead after a malfunction with a tractor during the Union County West End Fair in Laurelton Friday evening, state police say. According to a press release, the 33-year-old woman was a spectator at the tractor-pull event at around 8:30 p.m. when the vehicle being driven malfunctioned. Union County Coroner Dominick T. Adamo identified the woman as Brandy Horner. State police said an exhaust wheel within a turbo housing of the tractor became dislodged and was ejected from its manifold.

"Gas War" possibly underway in Richland Twp.

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. -- There's a possible "gas war" between Sheetz, the Giant Eagle "Get Go" and BP along Scalp Avenue in suburban Johnstown. The three competitors lowered their gas prices nearly 20 cents this past weekend making the cost around a $1.68 per gallon. According to Gasbuddy .com's daily survey, the average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania right now is a $1.87. The three gas stations were very busy on Sunday and Monday.

Centre Hall man stabbed, killed his dog while under the influence of mushrooms, police say

A 41-year-old Centre Hall man has been charged with stabbing and killing his dog Saturday night while he was on drugs. Just before 8 p.m. state police responded to a report of a man running on East Main Street in Miles Township with a dog. According to a probable-cause affidavit, Robert Noah Lewis was high on mushrooms and had stabbed his America Bulldog, Axel, multiple times with a knife. When on scene, first responders saw Lewis running “wildly” with the knife before he had an apparent medical emergency, according to the affidavit.

Search for new Essential Air Service carrier underway for Johnstown Airport

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The Johnstown-Cambria County Airport Authority confirmed they are searching for a new airliner as regional airports across the U.S. were recently notified by SkyWest Airlines that they will be terminating their Essential Air Service contracts. The Airport Authority said in a release sent to 6 News Wednesday that the search is already underway to provide a new carrier to the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport. SkyWest signed a contract that began in December 2020 and was to last until 2023 to provide services through the federal subsidy program for United Airlines flights to Washington Dulles International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.
