SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Visitors to Somerset Lake will see more work being done to a trail that will eventually loop the entire way around the waterway.
Phase 2-B construction is beginning for a quarter mile piece of trail from the main parking area to the main boat launch along the water line, and back up through the woods to Wood Duck Road.
County planning officials say there is also clearing taking place on the grounds above the trail for the future site of a multi-use pavilion.
Kayak rentals will also be coming this summer.
Officials say phase 2-C is in the design stage now.
Officials say that will take the trail the rest of the way to the dam and spillway.
