Washington County, PA (WJAC) — Moving on! Johnstown has advanced to the semi-final portion of the Pony League World Series bracket after defeating Chinese Taipei by a score of 4-2 Monday evening.
Johnstown scored all four of its runs in the first four innings of the game to hand Chinese Taipei its first tournament loss since 2014.
Johnstown now awaits the winner of Chinese Taipei and Bay County, Michigan.
The winner of that game would have to defeat Johnstown twice to advance to the tournament championship, with the first of those two games scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
