Pittsburgh Steelers' greats Hines Ward and James Harrison have been named as semifinalists for the 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class.

Harrison, who is a first-year nominee, helped lead the Steelers to victory in Super Bowl XLIII and was also named as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year during the 2008 season.

The former All-Pro linebacker spent 14 seasons in Pittsburgh and was voted to the Pro Bowl in five straight seasons, from 2007 to 2011.

He also holds the franchise record with 80.5 career sacks.

Harrison also set an NFL record in Super Bowl XLIII with his 100-yard interception return for a touchdown to end the first half of the game.

As for Ward, this is the seventh consecutive year that he has been named a semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Ward also spent 14 seasons with the Black & Gold and recorded 1,000 career receptions.

He is a member of the Steelers' Hall of Honor and was named MVP of Super Bowl XL.

Both Harrison and Ward each won two Super Bowls during their time with the Steelers.
