An update now to the ongoing legal battle between the FCC and Somerset County radio personality Roger Wahl.

According to an order that was made public last week, the FCC has officially revoked Wahl's license.

In 2020, Wahl pleaded guilty to several charges related to a criminal investigation in which police say that he tried to solicit strangers to rape his female friend by setting up a fake, online dating profile.

Wahl was later sentenced to serve three years of restricted probation, according to online court documents, as well as four months of electronic monitoring.

Since his arrest, Wahl has had numerous hearings with the FCC to discuss the ownership of his radio station, WQZS-FM.

"We find that Mr. Wahl lacks the qualifications to be or remain a Commission licensee," the order states. "He waived his right to a hearing by failing to respond to discovery requests and failing to comply with other procedural obligations," the FCC added.

The FCC also states that Wahl has until May 12th to review the order and file any appeals, however, his station must stop broadcasting by May 22nd.

The FCC also denied Wahl's attempt to transfer the ownership of his station to his daughter.
