State police say a Clearfield County couple is behind bars after an 11-month-old nearly died from a fentanyl overdose.

Police say on January 11th, the child was transported by ambulance to Penn Highlands Clearfield where he was revived using the opioid-reversal drug Narcan.

The child was then flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for further treatment.

Police say the child’s parents, 41-year-old Raymond Nestlerode and 28-year-old Amber Jaeger, of Curwensville, both admitted to using drugs and drug paraphernalia was found in the home.

Investigators say a report from Children’s Hospital states that the child tested positive for fentanyl and that the overdose was a “near-fatality.”

Nestlerode and Jaeger have bother been charged with multiple offenses, including felonies for endangering the welfare of children.

They are being housed in the Clearfield County Correctional Facility.
